Intern Diary: Ella

My fall semester as a Social Media Intern at JMG has been an unforgettable experience. I started with limited real-world exposure and left with newfound confidence in my skills and future in the social/digital space. A major highlight was the creative freedom I gained while working on Off The Clock's Instagram, allowing me to discover my own style while learning effective social media storytelling.

My mentor, Arcely, was instrumental in my growth. She helped me build practical skills in Canva, CapCut, and content creation, while teaching me to think like a digital marketer.

Each project enhanced my understanding of social media in a professional setting, integrating elements like strategy, brand voice, and community engagement.

What I appreciated most was the supportive environment at JMG. Even as a remote intern, I felt connected through engaging conversations and collaborative moments. Being part of such an inspiring team made each day enjoyable.

I’m particularly thankful for Arcely and Alexandra’s trust in me from day one, which encouraged me to take ownership of my ideas and grow creatively. This mentorship has shaped my career path significantly. Overall, I’m grateful for the growth, inspiration, and clarity this internship provided, and I’m thankful to everyone who contributed to this impactful experience.

My time at JMG has not only equipped me with valuable skills but also ignited my passion for brand strategy and marketing . I look forward to applying what I’ve learned as I continue my journey in Public Relations and Marketing!
