Intern Diary: Amyia
My experience interning at JMG PR has been transformative. I'm walking away with far more experience, insight, and skills than I had going in. JMG truly embraced me as an intern and ensured that each day I was getting the real-world experience I needed to have a successful future in PR. That not only helped my technical skills but influenced me to be more confident in my abilities overall.
One of the biggest highlights of my internship was getting to work so closely with my executive. Learning directly from someone who’s experienced in the PR world gave me that one-on-one guidance I needed.
The communication with the entire executive team was always easy and genuine, which made it feel natural to ask questions, get feedback, and really connect with everyone. Because of that, I wasn’t just learning PR skills, I was building real relationships and gaining mentors who helped me every step of the way.
Another thing I really appreciated was the amount of independence they gave me. Even as an intern, I was trusted to handle real tasks on my own, which pushed me to be more responsible and confident in my work. Having that level of freedom gave me a true taste of what it’s like to work in a professional setting, and it showed me that I’m capable of stepping up and delivering when it matters. The workspace was a perfect balance of support and freedom that helped me step into my potential .
Whether it was writing press releases, crafting pitches, researching for a client, or even the conversations we had during our daily Sip The Tea chats, I genuinely enjoyed every part of the experience. Each task and every conversation taught me something new, not just in PR, but about the kind of professional I want to become. Those moments made the internship feel meaningful and inspiring.
As I look ahead, I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned at JMG PR into the next chapter of my career. I feel more prepared and motivated than ever to keep growing and exploring new opportunities in PR. I’m extremely grateful for this experience, and I can’t wait to see where this foundation leads me in the future.
