Intern Diary: Sami

Interning at JMG PR was so much more than just a line on my resume. It was a truly meaningful experience that helped me grow both personally and professionally. From day one, I felt like part of the team. I wasn’t just handed busy work or left to figure things out on my own. I was trusted with real responsibilities, creative tasks, and opportunities to contribute to the team in a way that felt purposeful.

One of the biggest things I learned is how every day in PR looks different. I never knew what was coming next, and that’s something I really loved. One day I’d be writing a newsletter or blog, and the next I’d be working on a podcast script, helping with research, or creating Instagram graphics. I gained such a clear understanding of how fast-paced and ever-changing this industry is, and I genuinely enjoyed the variety and challenge that came with that.

My writing skills improved a lot during my time here. I learned how to tailor content to specific audiences and how to write with clarity and intention. Whether it was a newsletter, a blog, or Instagram captions, I was constantly learning how to adapt my tone for different platforms. Now, I have so many work samples that I’m proud of and excited to share as I move forward in my career.

I also improved my time management skills and learned how to effectively prioritize tasks to stay on top of deadlines and deliver quality work. With multiple responsibilities happening at once, I learned how to stay organized and get things done efficiently. I figured out when to ask questions, when to ask for approval, and how to communicate clearly with the team. That balance of being independent while also working collaboratively was something I really grew into.

Looking back, I’m so thankful for my time at JMG PR. I plan to take everything I’ve learned with me as I move forward in my career. This internship gave me the experience I needed to step into the world of PR. I now have a better understanding of how to create content that resonates, stay focused in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to new challenges. I’m so grateful for Alexandra and Arcely’s guidance and support along the way. No matter where I go next, I feel more prepared, capable, and confident because of the experience I gained here.
