Intern Diary: CJ
When I first joined JMG PR as a social media intern, I was immediately inspired by the team’s creativity and energy. I had the chance to experience the pace and expectations of agency life firsthand. I was encouraged to dive right in, contribute ideas, and be part of the process. That trust made me feel like a true member of the team rather than “just an intern.”
One of my favorite aspects of the internship was the creative freedom to brainstorm and produce content. From building carousel posts on PR trends and pop culture moments to drafting captions and reels, I learned how to turn cultural conversations into brand-relevant storytelling. Writing the Call Your Publicist newsletters also gave me the chance to strengthen my long-form writing skills.
Through this hands-on work, I gained more than technical skills; I built confidence in my ability to create content that resonates. I also learned a lot about balance, how to manage multiple projects at once, hit deadlines quickly, and adapt ideas based on feedback.
Looking back, this internship pushed me to think faster, create with intention, and better understand the role of PR in shaping how brands connect with audiences. I’m walking away from JMG PR with stronger skills, a clearer direction for my career, and more confidence in my abilities. This experience showed me what it’s like to work in PR at an agency level and gave me a front-row seat to how strategy, creativity, and storytelling come together to build impact.
Most importantly, it confirmed that this is the career path I want to keep pursuing. I’m excited to continue developing my voice as a communicator and to apply what I’ve learned here to future opportunities.
Thank you, JMG!
